  • I was overcharged for the game on Google Play

All billing-related problems should be taken up directly with Google as they stem from a problem with their platform.
We merely put our games on the store. Google manages their sales and financial transactions. For this reason, we highly recommend that you get in touch with Google, requesting an explanation as to why exactly you were overcharged for the game.
You can also submit a refund request to Google form here
If you require further assistance, feel free to use our contact form!

  • Can I get a refund? I bought the game from Google Play

Has it been less than 48 hours since your purchase? If so you can request a refund directly through Google Play by following the instructions in the link below:
    https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637

If it has been over 48 hours, you can send us a refund request via our contact form. Your request will be reviewed and a decision will be made according to our own internal policies. Please include the following details:

    – Reason for the refund. Please be as detailed as possible!

    What game modes are available?
    • Single Player
    • Online
    • Async
    • Online with Friends
What platforms is the game available on? Is it coming to other platforms in the future?

Ticket to Ride is available on Steam (PC), Google Play and Apple App Store, featuring cross-platform compatibility!

We also aim to bring Ticket to Ride to consoles in the future.

What languages does the game support?

Ticket to Ride supports English, French, Italian, German and Spanish.

What’s the difference between this Ticket to Ride and the old version of the game?

This is a brand new re-imagining of the beloved board game with several new features and improvements:

    • Vibrant new visuals and 3D flourishes that bring the board game to life
    • Improved AI for a real challenge, and a wide range of personality types so that you can have the solo experience that suits you best
    • Customise your appearance and express yourself! Choose from a large cast of characters to represent you, and pick your preferred colour. For the first time, customise your trains by choosing a locomotive and carriage that everyone will see when you claim a route
    • Full cross-play across all platforms
    • A post-launch update will introduce Adventures, a meta-narrative with challenges to beat in order to advance the story and unlock rewards
    • Regular updates will add new features and expansions.

We’ll continue to work with the community to deliver compelling content, with the ultimate goal being to support every existing physical expansion, as well as brand new digitally exclusive expansions!

What maps does the game have?

The initial release includes the North America and Europe maps, with the Europe map being a DLC, and more maps planned for future updates.

What multiplayer options does the game have?

Our game supports a wealth of online multiplayer options. Choose whether to play with friends or with random players, and choose the speed of game that suits you best. From a highly competitive game that can be completed in 15 minutes, to a more relaxed one that can be completed at your own pace, over days, with push notifications alerting you when it is your turn.

Local Multiplayer is not available at this time.

    Are there in-app purchases?

Yes, expansions and cosmetics can be purchased within the game.

Can I share in-app content with my family members?

It depends on the platform you are using, as each platform comes with its own set of rules and guidelines. For this reason, we highly recommend that you take the time to read up on the relevant platform’s guidelines before purchasing in-app content with the intent to share it with your family members.

On Steam, you can share in-app content with members of your Family Library group, but you’re prevented from playing the game at the same time. For more information, please visit this page.

Can other players play in maps they don’t own via host-sharing?

Unfortunately, no. All players will need to own the same map in order to play together.

However, please keep in mind that you will need to purchase the base game separately on both platforms.

Can I pause or rejoin matches? Is the game asynchronous?

For games with shorter timers, you’re expected to finish the game in a single session (typically an hour or less) – you’ll be able to rejoin the game if you’re disconnected or have to briefly suspend the game, but if you take too long then you’ll be replaced by an AI, so as not to disrupt the other players too much.

The game also supports asynchronous games with much longer timers, so that games can be played over multiple sessions. In this mode, each player is alerted by notification when it’s their turn, which they can take at their leisure when they have the time. These games can potentially take days to complete, or even up to a month if playing without timers.

How long does a game last?

Ticket to Ride game can be played in a range of modes and speeds. But, to be more specific, a game can be completed in a time frame that ranges from around 15 minutes to several days, according to your specified speed preferences.

Can I play the game offline?

Yes, but only in the Single Player Mode, against AI players. Currently, Ticket to Ride doesn’t support Local Multiplayer/ Play&Pass, so all the multiplayer options require an internet connection.

    Ticket to Ride Classic Edition

What is the sunset plan for Ticket to Ride: Classic Edition?

Marmalade Game Studio is solely responsible for the new Ticket to Ride video game. Any inquiries or concerns regarding the sunset plans for the classic edition should be directed to its developer – Twin Sails – via their support page.

I have the old Ticket to Ride game. Can I transfer my expansion purchases from the old game to the new game?

Unfortunately, no. Expansions will have to be purchased again in the new game.

Can I get a discount on the new game if I own the old game?

No, but you can claim an exclusive reward. We’ve been working closely with our community to better understand your needs, and as part of our appreciation for your support, we have decided to offer the Europe map as a gift to all players who own Ticket to Ride: Classic Edition. We’ve made this decision independently, with the sole intention of giving back and showing our commitment to the community.

On Steam, this is an automatic process; if you own both the Classic Edition and our version, the Europe Expansion will automatically be added to your game.

On mobile, please contact our support team at help@marmalademail.com and provide them with the invoices for your purchases of Ticket to Ride (2023) and Ticket to Ride Classic Edition. If you need assistance in locating these invoices, kindly let our team know the digital stores you purchased both games from (e.g. Apple App Store) and they will provide you with further instructions.

Can I transfer my friends from the old game to the new Ticket to Ride?

Unfortunately, no. The new game uses Marmalade’s Bubble platform for social features, while the previous version of the game used Asmodee.net. You’ll need to sign up to Bubble and add your friends again using this new platform.

Does the new Ticket to Ride come with all the same expansions as the previous version?

Our aim is to eventually support all of the most popular Ticket to Ride expansions. Join the community to help us decide what to add next!

    Future Features

Will you add more features in the future?

Marmalade Game Studio has a long history of making live games that are continually developed and added to over the years. We will continue to work with the community to make the ultimate version of Ticket to Ride, so if you have great ideas for features or content, get involved in our community and tell us! Share your feature requests by joining our Discord community or send us an email at help@marmalademail.com.

Does the new game have leaderboards?

No, not for launch, but it is a feature we are considering for a future update.

Are you going to support expansion [x]?

Our aim is to eventually support all of the most popular Ticket to Ride expansions. Join the community to help us decide what to add next!

Does the game support Pass & Play?

Not at this time, but it’s something we’re considering for the future. If it’s something you would like to see, join the community and let us know!

Can I chat with other players while playing TTR?

You can have private chats in Bubble, but that feature is not accessible while playing a match. We aim to add an in-game chat option in a future update.

iOS

  • The game has no sound!

The most obvious reason why your device has stopped outputting sound is that your has been turned down. To adjust the volume on your device, open the game and use the volume up/down buttons on the device’s left-hand side.
If your device is not on mute and you still have no sound please check the Ring/Silent switch located above the volume buttons. Apps will not output sound if your device is in silent mode. You can tell your mute switch is activated if it shows an orange line.
If the problem continues despite having the volume up and the Ring/Silent switch off, please try restarting your device.

  • The game is not showing up through Family Sharing.

All of our games are eligible for Family Sharing.

If you are having trouble with this feature, please contact an Apple representative since they created the Family Sharing and its features and are much better equipped to help you.

You can find some more details regarding Family Sharing in the following Apple Support link: https://support.apple.com/HT201088

  • I was overcharged for the game on the Apple App Store.

We highly recommend that you get in touch with Apple’s support as they do not give app developers access to any tools to support customers experiencing issues with the App Store. We merely submit our games to the store while Apple handles their sale and distribution.
Because of that, we are unable to access billing details and process refunds.

Follow the steps described in the link below to request a refund directly from Apple:

    https://support.apple.com/HT204084

  • I purchased a bundle from the App Store but it is not letting me download all of the games and asks me to purchase them again.

All download and billing-related problems should be taken up directly with Apple as developers aren’t given access to troubleshoot that part of the platform. We merely submit our games to the store while Apple handles their sale and distribution.

However, there are some steps that we can go through before you contact Apple.

    1. Restart your device
    2. Open the App Store
    3. Tap your profile picture in the top right corner
    4. Select “Purchased”
    5. Select “My Purchases”
    6. Find the bundle in the list of apps that appear – you should be able to download it from there

If the problem continues, please use the following link to try to find a solution to this problem and ultimately contact Apple: https://support.apple.com/apps

We are unable to process App Store refunds, as Apple does not give developers any tools to do so.
